GTSC, a State-Owned public Company offering a safe, reliable and affordable transportation service to the entire nation and sub-regional countries. We worked with GTSC to develop the Fare Automated Collection and Reporting System (FACARS), an integrated and state-of-the-art automated fare collection (AFC) system. Our team collaborated with the GTSC staff to understand their specific needs and design a customized solution.

Over 18,000 passengers been transported daily across every part of The Gambia, and major cities in Senegal. GTSC is the largest transport company in The Gambia.

The Gambia Transport Service Company (GTSC) is a state-owned public transportation company in the West African country of The Gambia. It is responsible for providing public transportation services, primarily bus services, to the residents and visitors of The Gambia. A daily transaction volume exceeding 10,000, GTSC primarily offers bus transportation services. The company operates a fleet of buses that serve various routes within The Gambia, connecting major cities, towns, and rural areas. These services are crucial for commuters and travelers within the country.

Services provided

Our journey began by conducting a comprehensive assessment of the company's existing operations and identifying the key pain points. We engaged in extensive consultations with the management team and key stakeholders to gain a thorough understanding of the challenges faced by the organization. We inturned provided an array of services to address these challenges. This involved:

  • Improved efficiency and decreased operational costs.
  • Integrate, automate and secure bus ticketing.
  • Automate data compilation & report generation
  • Bring transparency in bus ticketing operations.
  • To make the bus tickets commuter friendly.
  • Analysis and decision making process involved in route optimization.

Results

  • The client received two applications, a web-based and a mobile application that is installed on an android hand-held device known as Point-Of-Sale (POS) that is used by the bus conductors to sell bus tickets.
  • The client received a team of experts ready to take care of daily challenges and tasks.
  • Optimization of bus routes.
  • Cost Reduction and revenue increased.
